quote:Details for Microsoft Windows XP Pro Media Center Edition 2005 VLK - FulCreated by WeaZeL8580 3 days agoApplications : Windows : EnglishOk. As some of you may know I've previously released an XP Media Center Edition before and for those of you that have downloaded it and are fully satisfied without the ability to update from Microsoft Update, thats great. This release is not for you.For any others that want Media Center 2005, Look No Further! This is the Ultimate release and I would recommend it to my mother if she knew how to use a computer. But enough about the intro, let me get on to the details that many of you may be asking "why is this release so special?"Starting off: These are untouched and there are no extra slipstreamed programs. You can be assured that your system will not be bloated with unneeded programs. This is a 2 CD release and MUST be burnt to 2 single CDs. NO EXCEPTIONS.Read on for details:CD-1 (WINXPPROITT.NRG)Windows XP Professional SP2 Full Student Release VLKCD-Key: V2C47-MK7JD-3R89F-D2KXW-VPK3JThis version of Windows XP Pro will not ask you to activate. It is a copy used in many colleges to teach students the installtion process of Windows XP. It is, however, a full version of XP, and it has all the extras Windows XP is known to have. This release will also allow you to log on to Microsoft.com and use Windows Update with no problem. The CD is expected to be copied multiple times. I hope you all enjoy this release and hopefully its the last release you will ever have to download. To Use:Burn the image using NERO.CD is bootable.Install as you would an original CD.CD-2 (WINDOWS XP TO MEDIA CENTER EDITION 2005 CONVERTER.ISO).:: XP to MCE 05 Updater ::.This disk will allow you to upgrade your windowsxp to windows mce and retain your valid/legalliscense. No need to purchase an MCE liscense.Installation1. Burn iso to cd.2. Boot computer from cd. Once loaded you will seea command prompt that will make needed changes toallow MCE to be installed. You will be prompted todelete a registry key. This is to change from a dwordto a string value as needed by MCE.3. Once completed press a key and your system will reboot-----NOTE-----This window may appear minimized.4. Boot into Windows normally and run the installerautorun file.5. After each step you MUST reboot for a properinstall. (Do NOT skip this step!)6. If you are prompted to insert your XP Disk 2, pointthe program at the file on the disk/cmpnents/mediactr/i386/mediactr.cabEnjoy your new MCE 05!other NotesIf the installer program closes on it's own at any time, reopen iteither by the autorun command or open Cd_Setup.exe and try it againand it should work.Remember, reboot after EACH step for a successful installation. The Xbox 360 users optional installation is to allow Windows MCE tocommunicate with Media Center Extender devices to allow for streaming across a network. This release has been tested on Windows XP Pro, and should work fine with Corp/Vlk installations. This Release is by far the greatest XP you'll ever use. Do not take my word for it folks. You MUST try it for yourselves. It's faster than any other XP out there right now.Greatest feature of all: NO MORE WGA KILLERS OR CRACKS. When you're updating from Windows update or Microsoft Update and you are prompted to install the WGA notification tool. GO AHEAD! your system is valid and fully updatable. This release is fully legit and Microsoft cant do a damn thing to hurt it.PS: Many thanks to Neutek for the XP to MCE conversionYes thanks for the upload I have an old computer I use to test with just so I can test stuff like this. When I downloaded this I already had xp pro corp on it I updated that to media center and then tried a clean install FOLLOWING ALL DIRECTIONS listed above. When installing media center You MUST boot from cd and then when loaded up let it do the Reg fix both upgrade and clean install worked perfect remember when booting from media center the command prompt may be minnimized, also when I burned disk with nero verify the data had no problems on either install nice directions and Upload Great work nice to see

  • Subject : Question

    DarkNirvana at 2006-08-20 11:17:35

Is it possible to just install the student XP pro and nothing more? Or do I HAVE to install MCE?

  • Subject : Question About This "Conversion"

    Hench-man at 2006-08-20 15:30:49

Has anyone actually tried this on XP home edition SP2 and is it just a converter? All I want to do is convert over without loosing all my data on my hard drives (as I do not have a backup of anything-risky business lol)Also, if this is just a converter, can the original XP system restore undo the whole operation? Thanks to anyone who can answer this

quote:please give any information about this torrentThis torrent is the best copy of Windows XP that you can get. All you have to do it burn the Image with Nero and you are set. You ned to right the code onto the CD with a marker since you can take it out when they ask for it. This windows is 100% updatable. I went to the Microsoft website and downloaded all of the new updates along with service pack 3. I downloaed the IE beta with it with no problem. This copy of windows runs as smooth as they come. I can boot up in under 10 seconds. I have Norton Internet Security, Gmail notifier, and the Media Center Extender running at boot up. Getting this copy of windows working is seemless. There is no extra software or anything. THIS IS THE WAY IT WAS MENT TO BE RAN. Now the Media Center CD has a few issues. LIke it will stop during instalation. All you have to do is start it back up. Each of the media center things are not installed untill they say that they are. This Copy works great for a xbox 360 also.

quote:how do i burn it on CD???or should i burn on DVD??Please reply'Use Nero. YOu need to burn it as an image though and make sure that it finalizes the disk. You can download nero from their home page quicker than you can here. All you would have to do is use it once so I wouldnt waste my time.

quote:please give any information about this torrentWORKS GREAT ON A XBOX 360. You can download your movies off of here and use somthing called Videora converter to make them work on your 360. You dont have to have a special capture card to get it to work either. It will say that your card want work with the tuner but dont worry with it since you will be useing it to stream video and music. I can tell you this though. You need to make sure to have Roll Up 2 installed before you try to it get networked. You also need to search across google to find out what you need to do for your firewall. If your firewall isnt righ tit want network and then if it does it want work.

quote:quote:I have the exact same issue, im gona try another method, and thats to boot into the CD everytime and do the reg fix, see if that does itI also encountered the same issue, plz post with a solution if foundI suppose I was in a similar boat, I haven't installed this release but have a not-so-genuine version of MCE that I needed to update with Microsoft Update, and more importantly, get MCE Rollup 2 working. I used a release entitled "Windows.Genuine.Advantage.Validation.v1.5.540.0.CRACKED-NC" to fix the Microsoft Update problem for all but MCE Rollup 2. (Don't know if I needed to, but I also copied the 3 files into "c:\windows\system32\dllcache\" just to be safe...) But Rollup 2 still failed to install. So I downloaded the update "WindowsXPMediaCenter2005-KB900325-usa.exe" separately and then followed these steps to successfully apply the individual updates contained within the rollup. Hope this helps, comments welcome.1. Click on the Start menu, choose Run and type: cmd2. Change directories to the folder that you saved the Rollup 2 setup package (WindowsXPMediaCenter2005-KB900325-usa.exe) to by typing: cd /d (ex: cd /d c:\downloads\rollup\)3. Type: WindowsXPMediaCenter2005-KB900325-usa.exe /x:c:\temp (this will extract the contents to a temporary folder)4. Type: cd /d c:\temp\bin (this will change to the directory you extracted the Update Rollup 2 setup package to in step 3 above)5. Type: WindowsMedia10-KB895572-x86.exe /norestart6. Type: WindowsXP-KB891593-x86.exe /norestart7. Type: WindowsXP-KB895961-x86.exe /norestart8. Type: WindowsXP-KB899337-v2-x86.exe /norestart9. Type: WindowsXP-KB899510-x86.exe /norestart10. Type: WindowsXP-KB888795-x86.exe /norestart11. Type: WindowsXP-KB902841-x86.exe /norestart12. Type: KB900325.exe /norestart13. Type: wmfdist95.exe /Q:A /R:N /c:"wmsetsdk.exe /WMFDIST /Q /R:N /DisallowSystemRestore"A couple of these steps (namely #'s 6 & 8) may fail due to updates you already have installed but this is no big deal, just continue to the next step. After this you should be quite good to go.

Did i burn the cd wrong?Probably. You need to make sure you're burning the CD from an image file as opposed to simply burning the file on to a Data CD. Look for "Burn Image" somewhere in your burning software and point to the ISO file.

I'm only interested in getting a working copy of WIN XP Pro Corp that doesn't need all that fuckin "Genuine Advanage" workaround bullshit. I wanna be able to go on windows update & get any updates I want without any fuckin hassles. I'm not interested in the Media Center Edition conversion, so my question is can I just burn the first ISO, WINXPPROITT.nrg which should give me XP Pro Corp VLK, skipping the conversion to Media Center Edition altogether. And most importantly can I then grab updates from Microsoft without all their WGA bullshit!!!

And while I haven't installed this release, I'd bet a good deal this claim is accurate... at least for the time being. In short, it's no doubt the most sure-fire way to accomplish what you want without paying anything, but be wary of MS eventually screwing you somehow.

I lay odds that VISTA will be cracked within the first week of the official release ... watch this space !:)
