That .img file is an image file of the dvd. It has to burned or mounted. Check out Nero or Daemon tools and such

Madt: Perhaps you should remove your ignorance-hat, because there's a perfectly valid .iso in those compressed files.
Sorry for the dumb question, but what's the best way to install? I extracted from zvs2k5pd.rar in WinRAR (had to repair first) to a folder that contains zvs2k5pd.img. Tried mounting it in Alcohol and installing from the mounted drive, but nothing seems to work.

The .img file can easiest be burned using imgBurn fellas. What I want to know is, where in the image is there a serial or a crack? Or is this going to turn out to be exactly the same as I could get off M$ site?
