David Lord ( Kellan Lutz) wordt ontvoerd. Hij wordt vervolgens gedwongen zich te begeven in de gevaarlijke wereld van gevechten in een ondergrondse, maar moderne, gladiatoren-arena. De georganiseerde gevechten eindigen pas wanneer een van de gladiatoren sterft. De kwaadaardige organisator van dit alles (Samuel L. Jackson) zorgt er voor dat de gevechten te volgen zijn via het internet. Deze online uitzendingen blijken een zeer groot succes. David zal alles op alles moeten zetten om te overleven.
