We volgen een veteraan van de eerste Golfoorlog, die nadien nog gediend heeft in Afganistan en Irak en die ontdekt dat na jaren van traumatische gebeurtenissen meegemaakt te hebben, de terugkeer naar het gewone burgerleven slechts een hopeloze droom is. Jerry was tijdens zijn dienst in de eerste Golfoorlog een patriottische reservist bij de marine die gedreven werd door de wens om zijn landgenoten te beschermen. Ondanks het feit dat hij verbitterd isdoor de verbroken beloftes van het leger en dat hij nog steeds het respect niet heeft gekregen waar hij zo naar verlangde, wordt de burgergerichte vader van drie kinderen teruggestuurd naar Afghanistan en Irak, enkel en alleen om verschrikkelijke psychologische schade op te lopen door de horror van de oorlog. Jerry is nu terug gekeerd naar huis, naar zijn gezin dat leeft onder de armoedegrens en waar hij in een te kleine caravan, in zijn nachtmerries deze horror opnieuw meemaakt. Jerry zijn vrouw Nora heeft echter geen begrip voor zijn toestand, ze spaart haar kinderen hun verdiensten van hun krantenronde om zich voor te bereiden op een ontsnapping uit deze toestand. Wanneer Jerry echter ontdekt dat Nora hem bedrogen en belogen heeft, is de gewelddaad die hij pleegt zo gruwelijk dat zelfs de meest doorwinterde oorlogsveteraan walging zal voelen.
Storyline:
We follow a veteran of the first Gulf war, which has served in Iraq and Afganistan and afterwards discovered that after years of traumatic events witnessed, the return to normal civilian life just a hopeless dream. Jerry was during his service in the first Gulf war a patriotic reservist in the Navy that was driven by the desire to protect his countrymen. Despite the fact that he exasperated the isdoor broken promises of the army and that he still has not gotten the respect where he so desired, the citizen-oriented father of three children returned to Iraq and Afghanistan, only to terrible psychological damage on walking through the horror of the war. Jerry is now turned back to home to his family that live below the poverty line and where he was a small caravan, in his nightmares again this horror. Jerry his wife Nora, however, has no understanding of his condition, she saves her children their merits of their newspapers round to prepare for an escape from this situation. However, when Jerry discovered that Nora has lied and cheated him, is the Act of violence that he commits so horrible that even the most seasoned veteran will feel disgust.
