Barbra Streisand y Barry Gibb vuelven a reunirse, esta vez para hacer para lanzar ?Guilty Pleasures?
Han pasado mβs de 40 a±os desde que Barbra Streisand debut≤ en el disco.
Han pasado casi 40 a±os desde que los hermanos Gibb, encabezados por Barry comenzaron a hacer ferias y fiestas en la m˙sica. Y han pasado 25 a±os desde que se unieron el esplendor vocal de la cantante y el talento creador de Barry, para producir el maravilloso βlbum ?Guilty? que le report≤ a la Streisand algunos de sus mβs grandes éxitos.
Ahora se han unido de nuevo para hacer una segunda parte de aquel exitoso proyecto. Para cada uno ha pasado mucha agua por el molino. Barbra se ha casado, se ha retirado de los escenarios y ha pasado la barrera de los 60. Pese a todo, su voz estβ intacta, tan llena y recursiva que confirma que las buenas voces son como los vinos.
Barry Gibb viene de enfrentar la muerte de otro hermano, su compa±ero de grupo Maurice, hace casi tres a±os. El menor Andy muri≤ en 1988. Su artritis ha dificultado algunos movimientos de este hombre de casi 60 a±os que vocalmente estβ entero y su capacidad para componer y producir no se ha deteriorado.
Esa podrøa ser la gran queja. ?Guilty Pleasures? por momentos suena a ser un simple extensi≤n del disco producido hace un cuarto de siglo.
Excelentes d˙os y canciones perfectamente dise±adas para la voz de la Streisand, por Barry con sus hijos Ashley y Stephen. Hijos de tigre? siguen la lønea trazada por su padre que ayuda a dar la sensaci≤n de ser continuaci≤n del disco de aquel entonces. Aun asø es un disco cuya producci≤n es perfecta, cuidada, soberbia, elegante y amorosamente realizada.
Los temas mβs destacados son los d˙os porque pese a todo son buenos: ?Above The Law? y ?Come Tomorrow?. De los temas que con maestrøa, solvencia y madurez canta Barbra sola ?Night Of My Life?, ?Hideaway? y ?Without Your Love? y el tema escrito por Barry para su hermanito Andy a fines de los setenta que recibe un hermoso tratamiento por la Streisand.
