And yes I'm listening to the MLP 24/96 version. Disclaimers: I've been listening to the MFSL half speed mastered vinyl since it was released that way. I've had a couple opportunities to hear my SQ vinyl but it was never as good a system and with the encoding sounded pretty crushed compared to what I was used to. This 4.1 version has half the dynamic range. All the quiet voices and things are loud here. I haven't heard the SACD as I refuse to purchase any sony products. Again, no screwups on playback here. I mounted the disc image and ripped the mlp files to 24/96 wav with DVDAExplorer (a known working process). I'm listening through Digidesign HD converters playing back through Protools.
