Description
Cheech & Chong are a comedy duo consisting of Richard “Cheech” Marin and Tommy Chong, who enjoyed a wide audience in the 1970s and 1980s for their films and stand-up routines, which were based on the hippie and free love era, and especially drug culture movements, most notably their love for cannabis.
The duo released many successful comedy albums, and starred in a series of low-budget films. Their early success culminated with the release of their first feature-length movie, Up in Smoke, in 1978. Well received by an ever growing audience of stoners, it became something of a cult classic and paved the way for a series of successful films and comedy albums to follow.
This set includes their first 4 albums released on vinyl consisting of excerpts from their original stand up comedy routines and music… so kick back, roll one up, and enjoy!!
Cheech and Chong (1971)
Cheech and Chong is the self-titled debut album of Cheech & Chong. It features Dave, one of their most famous routines. The album peaked at #28 on the Billboard 200 the week of March 4, 1972. The album was nominated for Best Comedy Recording at the 14th Grammy Awards.

Big Bambu
Big Bambú is the second album by Cheech & Chong, released in 1972. The name Big Bambu is a reference to a type of rolling paper made by the Bambu company; the original LP sleeve was designed by Ernie Cefalu and manufactured to look like a giant rolling paper package, and originally contained a giant rolling paper with the record. Since its release, vinyl copies with the rolling paper have been extremely hard to find.

Los Cochinos (1973)
Los Cochinos (The Pigs) is a 1973 comedy album recorded by Cheech & Chong. The Spanish term cochino is a derogatory way of referring to a pig, as it also means dirty, in contrast to cerdo, a more neutral word for a pig as an animal. In this context, cochino ([dirty] pig) equates to the American derogatory term pig for policeman.
The packaging of the original vinyl LP release included a die cut cover showing a car door, and another die cut cardboard inner cover showing the usually sealed parts of a car door (which contained baggies of marijuana); the cardboard edge of the opening of the cover was cut decoratively around the windshield in the upper right corner. Subsequent re-pressings of the recording have not replicated the die-cut packaging.
The album not only matched the chart performance of Big Bambu by reaching #2 on the Billboard Albums Chart, but also earned the duo their one and only Grammy for Best Comedy Recording at the 16th Grammy Awards.

Wedding Album (1974)
The original vinyl LP contained unique artwork that made the album look like an actual wedding album. In the sleeve's spread, you can find photos in which the duo are dressed up like conjoined twins, and are married to an extremely pregnant woman with a bag over her head.
