STORY:
In the film two modern teenagers are transported into the community of Pleasantville, the setting of a black and white 1950s television show. Through their actions, the people of Pleasantville begin to experience strong emotion and consequently, events in town begin to deviate from the accepted norm.

TRAMA:
Stati Uniti. Oggi: grazie a un strano telecomando il giovane David, insieme a sua sorella, finisce nel mondo di "Pleasantville", una sitcom anni Cinquanta che segue con passione. A Pleasantiville non piove mai, il termometro è fisso sui 23°, non si sa cosa sia il sesso e i pompieri si preoccupano solo di salvare gatti incapaci di scendere dagli alberi. Ma l'arrivo dei due ragazzi, non avvertiti inizialmente come corpi estranei dai personaggi della soap, cambia molte cose. Al laghetto degli innamorati si comincia a baciarsi per davvero. Una brava madre di famiglia scopre l'orgasmo al punto di far incendiare un albero e, soprattutto, il colore comincia ad ottenere cittadinanza. È una vera e propria rivoluzione, stimolante per alcuni e inaccettabile per altri...
