For Mandy, the affection for Lionel trains started early, and never really faded away, despite embarking on a

highly successful singing and acting career. He wanted a layout that would capture parts of his family's life,

and that's exactly what he has created (with help from layout designer Rich Roman). The large, scale-detailed layout

features a freight yard, two mountains, and exquisite animated carnival, operating ski lift, scale structures,

and parallel mainlines with sweeping curves. Mandy operates a mix of the best Postwar and Modern Era Lionel trains,

all controlled electronically.



Includes interviews with Mr. Patinkin and layout builder Rich Roman.
