If you connect your PS3 via cable with your CPU and with the appropriate configuration (max buffer transcode 600.0), there will be no problem. The H264 files will work exactly (with the same quality) like via pendrive, AVI files will lost little quality (but for those you cold use AVIAddXSubs).
