Ariel Moore (Julianne Hough) is een meisje uit een klein dorpje op het platteland. Wanneer ze verliefd wordt op nieuwkomer Ren MacCormack (Kenny Wormald), ontdekt hij dat het in het dorp verboden is om harde muziek te draaien en om te dansen.
