If you follow the instructions and double click on "XP PLAY HALO 2.bat" you get a message that it is unable to find the following DLL: D3dx9_31.dll Halo is looking for it in the System32 folder under Windows, but it is not there. Perhaps dopeman can check on this and adjust his instructions. I am too busy to figure out the proper steps or I would do it myself. Peace! Future Halo 2 Player

finished downloading but a couple of problems: 1. cant open NFO file, says "system information cannot open this NFO file. It might be corrupted or an unrecognized version." 2.how do I 'unrar' 3.when dopeman says 'After unraring, simply install XLiveRedist1.0.6027.msi , then vcredist.msi Both files are locatated in the 'INSTALL THESE FIRST' folder.' are these applications located in the NFO file? if they are I cant run them because it wont even open that fucking folder. any help would be appreciated thanx

kinda funny how you guys are saying this doesnt work.cuz it works fine for me,ALL the way through the game.and for the dude wondering on what to do with it.first off when you open a .nfo file,use notepad to open it.just right-click and open with...and your question regarding what to use to unrar it.the word unrar answers your question in itself.USE WINRAR.and no, xliveredist1.0.6027.msi and vcredist.msi are located in the "install these first folder" which you cant access till you extract the files.and to the one asking why the game is looking for d3dx9_31.dll, for most cases,this means that you need to update your direct x or use the one that came with the game.its there dude.id point it out exactly, but i dont feel like looking for the folder right now.so all you people saying this dont work are either 1.full of shit. 2.doing something wrong. cuz i have never had problems with dopemans releases.thanks alot dopeman, keep up the good work.and also,to the guy wanting halo 3.if you think its gonna run on your pc,you are wrong since the game runs on total different coding for the xbox 360 compared to pc.that and is scripted differently.so it's very highly unlikely that your gonna get it running on pc.and again,dopeman,your the shit dude.keep em comin

This game has only come out on vista. If it has only come out on vista then how can dopeman have it working for xp? Don't donlowad if you are running windows xp IT ONLY WORKS ON VISTA!!!! and don't call me a fucking noob because I am running XP with a good graphics card and DX9 and I have fallowed all the steps there is no way this will work on xp.

you are wrong.. it is indeed working.. after followin the steps in dopeman nfo. In fac there is a .bat file that needs to be run on XP to launch the game.. dopeman made use of a loader for it to load on XP!.. only thing it is asking for activation of some sort n preventin to go further after the 4th level (just after putting the bomb on the covenant ship) :-( anybody hav been able to pass the 4th level using this dopeman release or anybody knows hw to fix this activation? Or dopeman if u around can u post a fix to this? :-) Thanks dopeman btw.

Vcredist doesnt open it tried to find a file that isnt there. Not really anyting I can do wrong to cause that so whats up with that? Anonymous:- how did you get this crap to work? must be something your not telling us mate.

Please follow the dopeman.nfo carefully.. you need to install XLiveRedist1.0.6027 first.. the vcredist has two files : vcredist.msi and vcredis1.cab.. in fact that the vc 8.0 runtime.. if you already have it installed as part of the latest dotnetframework then it is not required (if you dnt hav dotnetframwork installed at all the vcredist might not install either due to unavailablility of support dlls.) For file extraction..mak use of 7-zip itself (v4.42 would do) or winrar (v3.62 would do).. also make sure you have the latest directx 9c installed.. dopeman suggested april 2007 update but i gues the latest the better (me i have the one coming with NFS pro street installed - i guess its the aug2007 update).. please try again.. should work even without any additional updates on your windows xp (havnt updated since june 2006..haha) run game using included .bat in Halo2 folder (XP PLAY HALO 2.bat) hope that helps! :-)
