    I can't connect to a server, and I'm not behind a router. I can play on single-player mode, but that's it. Can anyone connect to a server? I keep getting "connection failed".

    nearly every new game uses some type of server side authentication. Only lan play is available for most of these. Or cracked servers. This has been the case for many years. You may have to buy it.

    Make sure you uninstall graphics drivers first before getting the latest one. This is how I solved the splash screen CTD.
