A downloads is the number of how many times the torrent has been downloaded according to its tracker record
A seeder is a peer that has a complete copy of the torrent and still offers it for upload. The more seeders there are, the better the chances are for completion of the file
A leech is usually a peer who has a negative effect on the swarm by having a very poor share ratio - in other words, downloading much more than they upload. Most leeches are users on asymmetric internet connections who do not leave their BitTorrent client open to seed the file after their download has completed. However, some leeches intentionally avoid uploading by using modified clients or excessively limiting their upload speed. The term leech, however, can be used simply to describe a peer - or any client that does not have 100% of the data
A peer is one instance of a BitTorrent client running on a computer on the Internet that other clients connect to and transfer data. Usually a peer does not have the complete file, but only parts of it, however, peer can be used to refer to any participant in the swarm (in this case, also known as a client). Note that the colloquial definition of peer is anybody, leech or seed, involved in a torrent
A health (or avaiability) the number of full copies of the file available to the client. Each seeder adds 1.0 to this number, as they have one complete copy of the file. A connected peer with a fraction of the file available adds that fraction to the availability, if no other peer has this part of the file. (ie. a peer with 65.3% of the file downloaded increases the availability by 0.653, when two peers who both have the same 50% of the file downloaded and there is one seeder the availability is 1.5)

OK, it took me awhile to clean up these comments and after doing so I've decided to weigh in on this one as something of a voice of authority...The BitTorrent format was first introduced with the BitTorrent client. The BitTorrent client is still in use today and in fact has gone commercial by teaming up with the movie industry to legally distribute movies online. Unfortunately, the original BitTorrent client (even newer versions) is probably the worst BitTorrent client available mainly because of it's lack of advanced functionality (which will likely never be added for reasons we don't need to go into here).In my opinion, the two best BitTorrent clients are µtorrent and Azureus. µtorrent is ideal for beginners and people who want a lean client that doesn't take a lot of system resources (though it still has some good advanced functionality). Azureus is my preferred client, though it's feature set can be somewhat intimidating to beginners and it also uses a lot more system resources than µtorrent. But Azureus can do some amazing things that no other client can.In summary, get rid of the original BitTorrent client and download a better one, whether it be µtorrent, Azureus or something else. I've downloaded 5 aXXo rips and I'm having problems with the picture on ALL of them. I keep getting thick green bands across the screen and the colour isn't right. This doen't happen with any of my other films.I've tried using DivX and VLC player but nothing works. What am I doin wrong? Someone please help!!

Hey, Thanks for all these great quality aXXo but one problem...Brother Bear stopped downloading at 50.03%.I see DL (kB/s) is 0.00 and UL(kB/s) is around 30.00 and the Torrent Rate is around 500.00.How come? Please helpI already know what happend... I only needed Brother Bear 2 so i canceled brother bear 1 thats all
