    Is there a way to change the file name in the torrent before downloading. Windows won't allow the torrent to create a file with a ? in the name.

    no there isnt, but better clients like bitcomet and azureus (i use bitcomet) will let you untick that file for download..try bitcomet. when you load the torrent, before the download even starts, you see the files list with tickboxes next to them. simply untick the ones that cause problems and then click ok - they will not be downlaoded
