A downloads is the number of how many times the torrent has been downloaded according to its tracker record
A seeder is a peer that has a complete copy of the torrent and still offers it for upload. The more seeders there are, the better the chances are for completion of the file
A leech is usually a peer who has a negative effect on the swarm by having a very poor share ratio - in other words, downloading much more than they upload. Most leeches are users on asymmetric internet connections who do not leave their BitTorrent client open to seed the file after their download has completed. However, some leeches intentionally avoid uploading by using modified clients or excessively limiting their upload speed. The term leech, however, can be used simply to describe a peer - or any client that does not have 100% of the data
A peer is one instance of a BitTorrent client running on a computer on the Internet that other clients connect to and transfer data. Usually a peer does not have the complete file, but only parts of it, however, peer can be used to refer to any participant in the swarm (in this case, also known as a client). Note that the colloquial definition of peer is anybody, leech or seed, involved in a torrent
A health (or avaiability) the number of full copies of the file available to the client. Each seeder adds 1.0 to this number, as they have one complete copy of the file. A connected peer with a fraction of the file available adds that fraction to the availability, if no other peer has this part of the file. (ie. a peer with 65.3% of the file downloaded increases the availability by 0.653, when two peers who both have the same 50% of the file downloaded and there is one seeder the availability is 1.5)

Its the full version of FF8 for pc. Now there are some issues with this game and the new generation video cards... When I used to have a geforce 4mx the game was playing fine... Now with a newer geforce 6200 there are graphic glitches when I use hardware display mode (software is fine though). This is a known issue! Its not a problem with the discs! The only way to fix the problem, is either installing an extra old pci video card into your pc (dual display) or a card such as a diamond monster 3d voodoo2 (that's what I did). If you find a different way of playing the game in hardware mode with a new generation video card please let us know!!!
With the game I've included some official patches (mainly fixes for the nvidia geforce cards) and some other instructions. Enjoy people
Thanks for the upload but can you please tell us how to install or burn these? Is there a no-CD crack too? I have Daemon tools and have installed 2 games already but is still difficult even with detailed instructions.Many thanks!
I don't have this game downloaded yet, but here's what you have to do:1.In Daemon Tools, select Device 0 and then Mount image.2. Double click on Final Fantasy VIII - Install Disc.bin and the disc will be loaded automatically.3. During the installation, if you are prompted to insert another CD, simply repeat steps 1 and 2 and mount CD you'll need.4. Apply both patches you've downloaded (FF8SqeaNVPatch.zip and FF8SqeaPatch.zip).5. If there's a crack (search all CDs for folder called CRACK or something like that), apply it.To burn it, use any program that can burn CD images (Nero, Roxio I think), select "Burn compilation" (so called in Nero) and choose disc you want to burn.That should be all.:)
If that doesnt work, try the following -1. Install the game (via CD or mounting to Alcohol/Daemon)2. Go to 'Start', then 'run'. Type in 'Regedit' (minus the quotes).3. Don't be worried by the masses of folders that come up - just make sure you follow these instructions carefully, and DO NOT mess with anything else in here, or theres a very good chance youll have to reformat your PC!4. Press the little + next to 'My Computer', do the same for 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE', scroll down to 'Software' and open that folder up.5. Scroll down to 'Squaresoft, Inc' and open that folder. Open the Final Fantasy VIII folder, and click on '1.00'.6. On the right, where it says 'Data Drive', right click and select 'modify'.7. Finally, simply change this letter to the letter of your virtual drive (so it looks like g: or f: - whichever your virtual drive is where the game is mounted. Remember to leave the colon [ : ] after the drive letter, with no spaces).Load up the game, I guarantee you it will work perfectly!:D
This is the second time I've come across a torrent which could not finish downloading because there were no seeders... Please, someone, log onto their Bitorrent application and start uploading this!... Please?
This is actually the first time i downloaded this torrent, but i just have to take one important question out of my head. It appears that in FF VIII it has a crash scene just after the hero saves the girl in space. Now if any one can confirm me that it actually DOES NOT crash there, it would a big thanks. Note: I have tried lotz of things to get pass this but it just doesnt work.

I will seed this for at least a week after it's done just so that people can benefit from my frustration... if it ever gets done.
The game it self can be run with very little requirements, wich means that even if you have a p2p running int he background it would not effect the game at all. I could only conclude that this torrent is not complete or the leechers arent leaving the files after downloading and extracting the cd isos. They have problably extracted the first 2 cds in order to play with them until the insert disk 3 and disk 4 pop up. Again this is just my theory!! :(
