Rather than downloading this tool and continuously using it, you can upgrade by:

Going to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > "Change/Remove" on "Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 - ENU".

Click Next, then select the "Upgrade" radio button, and enter this key: XMQ2Y - 4T3V6 - XJ48Y - D3K2V - 6C4WT. It will then upgrade it, removing need for this tool. I will keep it here in case Microsoft disable this key.

1. To start VS2008, simply run the .exe file that was originally called "VisualStudio2008TrialBypasser.exe"
2. It should automatically see your installed configuration and work without any other configuration necessary.

1. Your date is wrong.

Change it back, don't close the program next time - it will close itself.
UPDATE: It now resets the date when you close the program. IT is now less likely that your date will be messed up.

5. The bypass program keeps quitting before VS2008 is up and running

Right click, Create a shortcut of the program. Right click on it and choose Properties.
In the text field "Target" add the number of seconds you need it to wait after the last quoatation mark (") MULTIPLIED BY 1000, ie in milliseconds.

So 10 seconds would look like:
"{SOME_PATH}VisualStudio2008TrialBypasser.exe" 10000
