And since I have old hardware (p4 + 1.5 gb ram + 8500 gt) I cannot play 1080p files with other windows players. In linux I have "vdpau" enabled which allows me to play 1080p videos at 1-2% cpu usage as it uses the graphics card for video processing. It leads to a better video output even when compared to playing the same file in my friend's Core 2 Quad Q 6600 processor. Unfortunately it is supported only in mplayer and xine engine at the moment.
