Daughter is a short, 12 minute student film that is in all actuality, really quite scary. I know, I know, student films are crappy and pretentious, right? Well you will be pleased to find that this one is a cut (or six) above your average student film. This film is also rather rare, as it can only be found in select few places to purchase, and despite the awards and acclaim it has earned, still remains fairly obscure. Anyway, it's only twelve minutes long, and won't rape your ratio, so take a chance and watch it, people. I would summarize it myself, but IMDB user comments are so much more eloquent than me.
It's several levels above what you normally see from student work...and if you turn the lights off and give it a chance...it will give you a good, healthy scare.
This movie is also quite noteworthy because Eduardo Rodriguez, the student director...received a three picture movie deal from Miramax based solely(!) on this film. Movie fans should track it down for that reason alone.
